Rates for 30-year, 15-year mortgages rise
Rates on 30-year and 15-year mortgages rose this week, according to Freddie Mac’s nationwide survey. Rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages edged up to 5.88 percent from 5.85 percent.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages rose to 5.42 percent from 5.34 percent. For five-year adjustable-rate mortgages, rates dropped to 5.59 percent from 5.67 percent. Rates on one-year adjustable-rate mortgages fell to 5.19 percent from 5.24 percent.
Rates don’t include add-on fees known as points. For 30-year, 15-year and one-year adjustable-rate mortgages, the nationwide average fee was 0.5 point. Five-year mortgages carried a 0.6 point average fee.
